Across the road from what was once the Cobbs department store, Cobbs Corner Café is named for this historic conservation area.
Named for Walter Cobb's department store founded in 1860, Cobbs Corner was once declared to be the equal of Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Marshall & Snelgrove. Partially destroyed in the blitz of World War II the domed building still stands as a local sydenham landmark.
